The Vithanakanda Estate is beautiful as dry leaf with various shades of brown and silver throughout that has a sweet licorice aroma. When steeped, the liquor is a bright red-brown color and malty aroma. The tea itself is malty with hints of licorice, ripe fruit, and a touch of caramel.

Vithanakanda Estate, in the southwest of Sri Lanaka (Ceylon), produces orthodox teas at lower elevations which are known around the world. It has been producing teas near Ratnapura, in the Sabaragamuwa province of Sri Lanka (Ceylon) since the 1940’s.
