Lychee Flavor Osmanthus Flowering Tea Description:

A Chinese artisan flowering or blooming tea, Lychee Flavor Osmanthus is a beautiful reminder of spring. This hand crafted tea, made in Fuding, China, is perfect for brewing in a glass teapot to allow it to unfurl and display signs of spring while simultaneously brewing up a green tea with a very floral, sweet, scent of lychee and a touch of jasmine and lily.

Each package includes two flowering tea balls, each weighing 9-10 grams.

Adventurous TeaIngredients:

Handcrafted Chinese Green Silver Needle Tea, Osmanthus, Lily

Flowering Teas:

Flowering or blooming teas are handmade and sewn to produce the characteristic flower shape. Additional flowers such as globe amaranth, chrysanthemum, jasmine, lily, hibiscus, and osmanthus are added to the center to provide the color and shape.

It is thought that flowering teas date back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279 BCE) in the Yunnan province of China, however the exact origins are unknown.

Lychee Scenting:

Lychee is a tropical tree native for Guangdong and Fujian provinces of China. The lychee tree has been cultivated for its fruit for as long as 700 years in China. The flowers also provide a strong, sweet, floral aroma which, like jasmine flowers, is a favorite for scenting tea.

Step 1:
Add boiling water to mug and allow the water to cool to 170°-185° or simply wait 2-5 minutes. If using a larger glass pot then wait closer to 5 minutes.
Step 2:
Add one piece to the mug or pot.
Step 3:
Steep for approximately 5 minutes. Green teas often have substantially different character depending on the time and temperature used for steeping so experiment with water throughout the range. Try a second steeping.
