Handcrafted Chinese Green Silver Needle Tea, Osmanthus, Lily
Flowering or blooming teas are handmade and sewn to produce the characteristic flower shape. Additional flowers such as globe amaranth, chrysanthemum, jasmine, lily, hibiscus, and osmanthus are added to the center to provide the color and shape.
It is thought that flowering teas date back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279 BCE) in the Yunnan province of China, however the exact origins are unknown.
Lychee is a tropical tree native for Guangdong and Fujian provinces of China. The lychee tree has been cultivated for its fruit for as long as 700 years in China. The flowers also provide a strong, sweet, floral aroma which, like jasmine flowers, is a favorite for scenting tea.
