Jasmine Dragon Tears Description:

Also known as Jasmine Dragon Pearls or simply Jasmine Pearl Tea, this beautiful pearl shaped green tea with various light green to silver colors running throughout. Delicately picked with some remaining downy hairs. The steeped tea gives way to a clear bright cream colored liquor.  Jasmine Dragon Tears Chinese green tea features a sweet taste with umami, mild astringency, and very little acidity. An excellent tea to get one started with green teas.

Conventional TeasIngredients:

Chinese Green Tea

Jasmine Dragon Tears Significance:

Handmade Chinese green tea made from the top two leaves and a bud during the first growth of the season during late March or early April. The remaining downy hairs are an indicator of quality, illustrating the light touch during plucking and rolling. Fresh Jasmine flowers are layered between layers of tea to impart flavor and aroma. Jasmine Dragon Tears, or Jasmine Pearl Tea balls, unfurl beautifully while they are infused in hot water.

Step 1:
Add boiling water to mug and allow the water to cool to 170°-185° or simply wait 2-5 minutes.
Step 2:
Steep 1 round tsp or 3-4 grams of tea per 8 oz of water.
Step 3:
Steep for 3-5 minutes. Green teas often have substantially different character depending on the time and temperature used for steeping so experiment with water throughout the range. Try 2-3 steepings. Great candidate for cold brewing.

I love this jasmine tea! Very flavorful but also natural tasting. I pretty much drink it every day!

I have always preferred Black teas on the whole but Jasmine Green Tea is an exception. The experience is really one of Aromatherapy as well. With a name like Jasmine Dragon Tears, who can resist. (Green tea is good for high blood pressure too!) To me, definitely an "adventurous" tea but an absolute delight if and when you have the time.
